EAT HEALTHY, NOT BORING
Who says that cooking healthier has to mean boring meals? The team behind Lifetime's food makeover show Cook Yourself Thin show's best-selling cookbook ($12) suggests making small changes to meals to lose the bulge while still indulging. "When you deprive yourself of anything, you're going to cheat," says Candice Kumai, one of the series's three chefs. One easy change? "Greek yogurt has calcium and protein, and it has the exact same consistency as sour cream." Another go-to trick: Add vegetables to baked goods. "Zucchini bread, sweet potato pie," she says. "Vegetables are a lighter way of adding texture and moisture." – Thailan Pham
