After announcing the nominees with Amy Adams, Murray added, "Oh, we forgot one: Harold Ramis for Caddyshack, Ghostbusters and Groundhog Day."
The audience roared their approval when Murray mentioned the late comedy legend. When the applause quieted down, Murray politely apologized for stealing the moment, and then handed the prize to Gravity's Emmanuel Lubezki.
Murray and Ramis were longtime friends and collaborators who came up together in the Chicago comedy scene before heading to Hollywood. They teamed up on films like Meatballs, Caddyshack, Stripes and Groundhog Day, and costarred in Ghostbusters.
After news broke of Ramis's death on Feb. 24, Murray told Time: "He earned his keep on this planet. God bless him."
