As a rapper who got his start on Youtube, it makes sense that Macklemore turned to social media to speak his latest message.

Macklemore, in a total Macklemore move, texted fellow MC Kendrick Lamar to apologize for beating him at Sunday night's Grammy awards. As the only white artist nominated in the best rap album category, Macklemore triumphed over Lamar's critically acclaimed debut Good Kid, M.A.A.D. City, as well as albums by Drake, Jay Z and Kanye West.

"You got robbed," the Seattle rapper wrote. "I wanted you to win. You should have."

Macklemore expressed similar sentiments in an interview with The Source before the Grammys: "I think [best rap album] should go to Kendrick … I understand why hip-hop would feel like Kendrick got robbed [if he didn't win]."

And in yet another totally Macklemore move, the "Same Love" rapper broadcast his text to Lamar on his 2.6-million-follower Instagram account, where it was also revealed that he had thousands of unread messages.

Additionally, Macklemore won the Grammy for best new artist. Both he and Lamar lost in the album of the year category to Daft Punk.
