They kicked off the awards show with the steamiest performance of the night and Jay Z continued his love fest for his wife Beyoncé after winning best rap song collaboration for his song "Holy Grail" (which features Justin Timberlake).

The rapper began his speech by thanking Timberlake and producer The-Dream and "all the typical things" before giving a shout out to his wife.

"I want to thank God – I mean a little bit for this award, but mostly for that and all of the universe for conspiring and putting that beautiful light of a young lady in my life," he told the audience as Beyoncé beamed from the front row.

And he was sure not to leave out an even younger lady in his life – his 2-year-old daughter.

"And I want to tell Blue, 'Look! Daddy's got a gold sippy cup for you,' " he said referring to his gramophone award.
