The message to Oscar winners on Sunday night? If you go over the allotted time, prepare for a shark attack.

The terrifying theme from Jaws greeted winners who took too long during their acceptance speech.

Life of Pi was the first movie to experience the infamous "da dum, da dum, da dum" notes when it nabbed the Academy Award for Best Visual Effects.

The film's special effects supervisor, Bill Westenhofer, accepted the award and the music cut off his speech entirely as he tried to spread awareness about his company's bankruptcy.

Director Malik Bendjelloul also fell victim to the scary tune after he accepted an award for Best Documentary Feature for his film, Searching for Sugarman.

Nicole Kidman reportedly mouthed, "Poor thing" to her husband, Keith Urban, as Bendjelloul was played off.
