Add a Golden Globe to Adele’s collection!

The singer, 24, took home an award for her James Bond title song, “Skyfall” – and delivered what may be the best speech of the evening.

“Oh my God, oh my God, oh my God,” Adele began as she took the stage. “Honestly I came for a night out – with my friend Ayda – we’re new mums. I was not expecting this. Thank you so much,” she said.

“Very strange to be here, thank you so much for letting me be a part of your world for a night, it’s amazing – and we’ve been pissing ourselves laughing!” she said.

“I’d like to thank the Hollywood Foreign Press, I never thought I’d say that. And this is for my boyfriend who convinced me to do it … and my lovely son. Thank you so much,” she said, exiting the stage.

The Golden Globes mark the private singer’s first public appearance since giving birth to a boy in October.

“I am exhausted, that is how [motherhood] has changed me. I have eczema from boiling bottles,” she told PEOPLE backstage after her big win.

The singer – who is yet to release the baby boy’s name – says she has no plans to share him with the world just yet.

“I am not sharing his name at the moment. It is very personal to me. I am enjoying him on my own,” she says.

Since arriving in the U.S., the Grammy Award winner – who has been in Los Angeles since Thursday – shopped at upscale baby boutique Bel Bambini in West Hollywood on Friday.

“She was in a great mood and just focused on picking up essentials for her baby boy,” an eyewitness told PEOPLE of her shopping trip.
