would be nice and all, but Seth Rogen says he's already "won the one award" he's longed to earn.
"I've won it twice, and that is High Times
magazine's Stoner of the Year," Rogen, 29, says. "I actually lost to James Franco
The funnyman, who goes on to say he'd "rather host the Oscars than win an Oscar," gets his first big hosting gig
at the Independent Spirit Awards on Saturday, airing on IFC at 10 p.m.
"I honestly don't know which of these movies have won [or been nominated for] other awards and s--- like that," he admits, adding that he hasn't seen this year's critically acclaimed The Artist
. "I just know which ones I
thought were awesome, and I'll probably make that clear while I'm hosting."
Rogen feels like his favorite recent film was snubbed.
"I honestly thought Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol
was one of the best movies of the year," he says. "It got no love from the awards whatsoever. I love that [expletive] movie. It was great. I'm an Oscar voter. I voted for it."
Which puts him in an unusual position as host of the Indie Spirit awards.
"I watch a lot of movies, but I don't often seek out these little independent movies," he says. "I wait until they come out or until tons of people tell me they're good because I'm too busy seeing Mission Impossible
