How do you follow up a Best Actress Oscar win?

For Meryl Streep, it seems a burger will do! The actress (who won for her starring role in The Iron Lady) indulged at the Weinstein afterparty at the Mondrian Hotel, ordering Fatburger, which was being served at the bash.

Earlier in Hollywood, the stars came out for Elton John's 20th Annual Academy Awards Viewing Party – and were captivated by Streep's shocked reaction to her win (along with Octavia Spencer's emotional victory and Christopher Plummer's charming speech).

As for the host of the evening, John told PEOPLE that his party serves as a fabulous meet and greet and a chance to watch the Oscars in star company. "At the end of the day, you come away with such happy memories," he said. "I've never met Katy Perry – she's at my table tonight."

"That's going to be so much fun. And I've never met Adam Lambert," he continued. "So I get to meet people and get to know them. And hopefully, we become friends."

And for some guests, maybe more. "I can see Kim Kardashian going off with Adam Lambert," John joked.

In addition to chatting up John, Perry (whose blue hairdo matched the party décor), held court with Steven Tyler at her table.

Elsewhere, Heidi Klum worked the room with Kyle MacLachlan's wife Desiree Gruber and party guests clamored for photos with Kim and Kourtney Kardashian.

Glee star Matthew Morrison won the award for Best PDA at the party, making out with his girlfriend Renee Puente on and off all night despite his concerns about his 7 a.m. call time. A close runner-up? Miley Cyrus, who posed for a flirtatious photo with Kelly Osbourne, in which the pair nearly kissed.

Overall, the night was a rousing success for Lambert, who was thrilled to sit at the famous host's table. "It's been really lovely," Lambert told PEOPLE of John. "He's hilarious and he's got a dirty sense of humor which I really appreciate in an environment like this. It's great."
