Who Would Michael Fassbender Take to the Oscars?

The Irish actor is racking up the award nominations for his bare-all role, but though he says he's not hedging his bets on an Oscar nod, there's no contest on who would accompany him to the ceremony if he's recognized by the Academy.
"It would just be a bonus," Fassbender, 34, tells The Hollywood Reporter of a potential nomination, "but of course I would take my mom down the red carpet."
Fassbender, whose 2011 resume also included parts in Jane Eyre and X-Men: First Class, as well as a turn as psychiatrist Carl Jung in A Dangerous Method, said he researched his character in Shame by meeting with real-life recovering sex addicts. He also claims to have, by necessity, quickly overcome shyness in regards to his many full-frontal nude scenes.
"I was a bit worried that I'd perhaps bitten off more than I could chew," he told THR. "I kind of had to get over it and get on with it."
And when it comes to Fassbender's parents, there apparently isn't any, well, shame over his character in the film. His father is "very proud," the award-nominee says.
As for his potential Oscar date? Back in December, Fassbender said of the role: "I did this one for you, Mom!"
