Talk about bringing the heat!
Katy Perry, who has already sung about fireworks and sunny California, took a fiery turn on stage inside the L.A.'s Staples Center during the Grammy Awards Sunday night with her new song, "Part of Me."
The singer, 27, who signed her divorce papers last week, first launched into her hit "E.T." while green beams lit the stage.
But then the stage blacked out, as a blue-haired Perry emerged in a leather-like, silver and gold body suit – a different look than the dazzling gown she walked the red carpet in earlier – to perform her new tune while flames shot up around the stage.
And perhaps the lyrics contained a reference to ex Russell Brand?
"Now look at me, I'm sparking/A firework, a dancing flame/You won't ever put me out again," Perry, who's up for record of the year, one of the night's top honors, sang. Another line: "You can keep everything."
As one reader said in PEOPLE.com's live blog, "Take that Russell."
