The singer and American Idol judge is returning to acting in the police drama Shades of Blue for NBC. And she clearly relishes the chance to play a crooked cop who becomes a federal informant and is very much caught between right and wrong.

Actor Colin Egglesfield wasn’t in the classic baseball film Field of Dreams.

But if they built a screen in center field, he would come.

When Egglesfield heard about plans to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the movie’s release during Father’s Day weekend in Iowa, he flew to Sioux Falls, South Dakota, picked up his dad and drove six hours to the farm where it was filmed.

He’s played crooked cops and criminals. But on Oct. 13, Ray Liotta will lend his voice to a new villain and face a new foe: SpongeBob SquarePants.

On the half-hour Nickelodeon special, Spongebob SquarePants Who Bob, What Pants, the Goodfellas star, 53, will voice the leader of the “dangerous Bubble Poppin Boys gang. According to the network, SpongeBob “wanders the ocean, a stranger in his own pants, and finds himself in a rough part of New Kelp City, where he faces off against the Boys’ gangleader, Liotta’s character.

Ray Liotta Pleads No Contest to Reckless Driving

Ray Liotta pleaded no contest to alcohol or drug-related reckless driving and was sentenced to probation.

The Goodfellas star, 52, was sentenced Wednesday in a Los Angeles court to three years’ probation, is required to complete a short anti-alcohol program, pay more than $300 in fines, and must pay restitution to the owners of the two cars he hit.

Ray Liotta Arrested on DUI Charge

Ray Liotta hit two parked cars while driving an SUV in Los Angeles Sunday night and was subsequently arrested on suspicion of drunk driving, police tell PEOPLE.

“Mr. Liotta was cooperative and was arrested without incident,” Officer Mike Lopez says. “There were no injuries.”

Liotta, 52, was driving alone in a silver Cadillac Escalade in the Pacific Palisades neighborhood around 8 p.m. when the accident occurred.

He followed with such lesser efforts as 1995’s “Operation Dumbo Drop” and 1999’s “Muppets from Space.” “I definitely hit a lull that I’m coming out of, no question about it,” he’s told reporters.
