It wasn’t just the sun that loved Phyllis Diller, who died at her Brentwood home Monday at the age of 95. Her fans spanned generations and also included the top names in the business she fought so hard to break into – and then remained, to elicit gales of laughter for more than 50 years.

Phyllis Diller, the legendary wild-haired, self-deprecating queen of comedy, died Monday at her Brentwood, Calif., home. She was 95.

Suffering heart problems in recent years and reportedly in declining health from a fall, she died peacefully in her sleep surrounded by her family.

BEEFED: A commercial starring Paris Hilton for the Southern California-based Carl’s Jr. burger chain may be too hot for TV, according to trade reports about its creation. In the ad, the Simple Life star reportedly is shown washing a car as water hoses shoot suggestively. The spot concludes with Hilton biting into a burger and declaring, “That’s hot.” This isn’t the first time Carl’s Jr. has pushed the envelope in its ads, British publication Brand Republic reports.

Janu Makes a Survivor: Palau Sacrifice

EXITED: There was a stunning tribal sacrifice on Thursday night’s edition of CBS’s Survivor: Palau, with 39-year-old Las Vegas showgirl Janu Tornell putting down her torch just before the vote – claiming she had already gotten all she could have out of the island experience. Another factor was that Janu sensed that her tribe was going to vote out Stephenie LaGrossa, 25-year-old pharmaceutical sales rep from Philadelphia – who also had been the last standing Ulong member before joining the Koror fold. Janu admitted that Stephenie deserved to stay on.
