Star Wars fans should cherish this 2½-minute blooper reel, which gives a rare behind-the-scenes glimpse into the classic film series.

The reel is a composite of takes from the original trilogy, discovered by Lucasfilm editor J.W. Rinzler while he was searching through the film archives in preparation for a new making-of collection, Wired reports. It was then screened at San Diego Comic-Con this summer.

Mark Hamill to Step In for Steiger

Mark Hamill, best known for his role as Luke Skywalker in the original “Star Wars” trilogy, has replaced actor Rod Steiger, who died last week from pneumonia and kidney failure at the age of 77, in an independent film called “Constricted,” reports the Associated Press. Steiger, who was cast as a small-town funeral director, was taken off production when he became ill and replaced by Hamill, 51, who was originally cast to play a bartender. The film, being partially shot in Watertown, Wis., follows the story of a 36-year-old man who returns home to find that his father has committed suicide.

In next Tuesday’s episode of NBC’s “Just Shoot Me,” Mark Hamill, guest-starring as himself, is stalked by an obsessed “Star Wars” fan (series regular David Spade). While his Luke Skywalker days are behind him, Hamill has found that many Force fanatics keep pressing him for details about George Lucas’ next “Star Wars” film, “The Phantom Menace,” due out in May. “They ask me all kinds of questions,” Hamill told PEOPLE Magazine’s Jason Lynch.
