Aretha Franklin, Lyle Lovett and More Perform at the White House

Aretha Franklin brought down the (White) House at a concert celebrating gospel music in the nation’s capital on Tuesday.

The Queen of Soul was just one of a number of famous crooners who showed up for the “jam” session, which was recorded as part of PBS’ “In Performance at the White House” series. Also in attendance were Lyle Lovett, T Bone Burnett and Darlene Love, among others.

Tea Leoni: Sexy in Sneakers?

Tea Leoni got a little kinky with Adam Sandler in their new movie, Spanglish. The actress, who plays a neurotic mother and wife, says she insisted to the film’s director, James L. Brooks, on just one thing during the couple’s coupling scene. “I told Jim, ‘The only thing is – and I really feel adamant about this – I want to leave her sneakers on.’ ” Leoni, who has two children with husband David Duchovny, says she’d never leave her running shoes on while being intimate in real life, but her character, Deborah, isn’t the touchy-feely type.
