Fleetwood Mac's John McVie Returns to Stage Following Cancer Diagnosis

They’re back.

Three months after Fleetwood Mac canceled their Australian and New Zealand tours following the news that bass player John McVie had been diagnosed with cancer, the legendary rockers returned to the stage to play a show at the MGM Grand Garden Arena on Dec. 30.

They also played a private New Year’s Eve concert the next night and have another private show scheduled for Jan. 8.

Fleetwood Mac is canceling planned performances in Australia and New Zealand as bassist John McVie is treated for cancer.

Band members Mick Fleetwood, Stevie Nicks and Lindsay Buckingham said in a statement Sunday that they’re sorry to cancel the 14 show dates and hope “fans everywhere will join us in wishing John and his family all the best.”

Band spokeswoman Liz Rosenberg did not specify what type of cancer McVie is treating.
