James Garner, for more than 50 years one of Hollywood’s most likable leading men on the big screen and on TV, died at his Los Angeles home Saturday night, reports TMZ. He was 86.

James Garner to Leave Hospital Soon

James Garner is expected to leave a hospital shortly after having suffered a minor stroke.

The veteran Maverick and The Rockford Files star, 80, was hospitalized Friday after feeling ill, the Associated Press reports.

“He’s still in the hospital, but my understanding is he is doing well and will be going home soon,” says Garner’s publicist. “When, exactly, we have not been told yet.”
