Friday Actor Reynaldo Rey Dies at 75

Reynaldo Rey, who was best known for his roles in Friday and White Men Can’t Jump, died on Thursday at the age of 75.

The actor and comedian’s manager told the Associated Press that he died at a Los Angeles hospital from complications after suffering a stroke.

Rey, who started out as a teacher, began his showbiz career as a stand-up comedian, opening for his mentor Redd Foxx, before moving into films.

“When I walk by they’ll start singing ‘Friday’ in a really nasally voice,” the teen told ABC News. “Or, you know, they’ll be like, ‘Oh hey, Rebecca, guess what day it is?’ ”
