It’s a sad but true fact of life that everything must eventually come to an end – and when it comes to TV shows, some of those endings are much more satisfying than others.

Lee Thompson Young, who starred as the lead in Disney Channel’s The Famous Jett Jackson, has died in a suicide. He was 29.

Los Angeles Police Department confirms to PEOPLE that officers responded to an early morning call and found the actor dead in his apartment.

“It is with great sadness that I announce that Lee Thompson Young tragically took his own life this morning,” Young s longtime manager, Jonathan Baruch, said in a statement released to PEOPLE.

The groom’s father, Butch, was best man, and the bride’s sister, Lindsey, was maid of honor – while the couple’s dog, Truffle, served as flower girl. The bride and groom wrote their own vows.

The Friday Night Lights star, 30, tied the knot with fiancée Kiele Sanchez, 36, on Saturday, the actor’s rep confirms to PEOPLE.

The couple got engaged in December 2011, a source confirmed to PEOPLE at the time.

Gilford – who played quarterback Matt Saracen on the hit series – costarred with Sanchez, who has appeared on several shows, including Lost and The Glades, in the 2010 TV movie Matadors.
