Alien to Return, but Will Ripley?

Get ready for the return of Ripley’s bad guys.

Neil Blomkamp – best known for directing Elysium and the upcoming Chappie – revealed via social media that he’s been tapped to direct a new version of Alien.

Blomkamp posted a dark and foreboding image of one of the aliens, along with the message, “So I think this is officially my next film.”

Alien Artist H.R. Giger Dies at 74

Swiss artist H.R. Giger, who designed the creature in Ridley Scott’s sci-fi horror classic Alien, has died at 74 from injuries suffered in a fall, his museum said Tuesday.

Sandra Mivelaz, administrator of the H.R. Giger Museum in Gruyères, western Switzerland, told the Associated Press that Giger died in a hospital on Monday.
