Prosecutors rested their case Tuesday against Owen Labrie, a prep school graduate who allegedly raped a 15-year-old female student last year at New Hampshire’s elite St. Paul’s School.
During Tuesday’s testimony, prosecutors called to the stand witnesses including a detective who interviewed Labrie after the alleged assault as well as a criminalist who testified that male DNA found on the girl’s underwear matched Labrie’s profile. Labrie, now 19, admitted that there was consensual touching and kissing but has repeatedly denied having sex with the high school freshman.
Friends of New Hampshire prep school graduate Owen Labrie, currently on trial for raping a 15-year-old female student, gave testimony Monday that appears to conflict with Labrie’s claims that he never had sex with the alleged victim.
A former roommate of Labrie’s told the court that his buddy claimed to have had sexual intercourse with the girl on the evening of May 30, 2014, during St. Paul’s School’s year-end “senior salute” tradition where graduating seniors proposition younger students.
A Massachusetts man was arrested in Ohio early Sunday morning after he allegedly stabbed his brother, raped his brother’s girlfriend and then drove both victims to Ohio.
The suspect, whose identity has not been released pending his arraignment, is in custody after he allegedly stole the car of a Pike County, Ohio, sheriff’s deputy and led authorities on a chase before he was finally captured, a Boxborough, Massachusetts, police spokesman tells PEOPLE.
The 16-year-old girl who accused an older student of raping her as part of a tradition at an elite prep school known as the “Senior Salute” released a statement after her court appearance on Thursday, stating, “I can now say that I am a survivor.”
