Joan Lunden surprised listeners on a radio talk show Thursday morning when she announced that she and husband Jeff Konigsberg are expecting a second set of twins in early March.
The former “Good Morning America” anchor, who turns 53 on Sunday, was guest-hosting on WOR radio in New York and discussing the latest advancement in fertility with specialist Dr. Guy Ringler and surrogate Deborah Bolig – the Cincinnati woman who carried Lunden and Konigsberg’s 15-month-old twins, Kate and Max.
Bolig and Lunden then decided to let listeners in on their secret: that Bolig is once again pregnant, carrying another set of twins for the Konigsbergs.
“Twins are always in the cards when you do in vitro and have multiple embryos,” said Lunden, who married Konigsberg in April 2000 and has three daughters from a previous marriage: Jamie, 24, Lindsay, 21, and Sarah, 17.
“I feel like I’m living on Noah’s Ark,” Lunden said. “They’re coming two by two.”
Meanwhile, in other baby news, country star Deana Carter, 38, had a baby boy delivered by C-section Wednesday at 8 a.m. at L.A.’s Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
The baby, whose name hasn’t been announced, weighed in at 7 lbs. 14 oz. The proud pop is Chris Hicky, an independent filmmaker.
