Colin Farrell, star of Oliver Stone’s forthcoming film “Alexander,” injured his foot over the weekend while in Thailand shooting the movie about the ancient Macedonian warrior Alexander the Great.
Farrell, 27, reportedly slipped and fell on the stairs of his hotel in Bangkok, according to the Associated Press. Although he was not seriously injured, he was fitted with a cast and released from the hospital.
It also apparently didn’t stop the Irish heartthrob from returning to the set on Monday. Farrell is starring in the picture’s lead role, and filming is expected to wrap up this week, according to a publicist for the actor. Angelina Jolie, Rosario Dawson and Jared Leto also costar in the film, due in theaters late this year.
Farrell has been on location shooting “Alexander” since at least last September, when his girlfriend, model Kim Bordenave, gave birth to a son. At the time Farrell was stuck in Morocco and unable to make it back the States.
When he returns to the United States later this month, Farrell is scheduled to be a presenter at the 76th Annual Academy Awards on Feb. 29 at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood.
