The Iceman was snubbeth. Kevin Spacey’s critically praised portrayal of a garrulous barfly in the Broadway revival of “The Iceman Cometh” – called “the performance of a lifetime” by The New York Times – was snubbed Monday by the Drama Desk as the journalist organization announced its nominations for the best of the Broadway and Off-Broadway season. Also snubbed was Nicole Kidman for “The Blue Room.” Nominated for best actor in a play were: Brian Dennehy for “Death of a Salesman”; Scott Glenn for “Killer Joe”; Finbar Lynch and Corin Redgrave, both for “Not About Nightingales”; Toby Stephens for “Ring Round the Moon”; and Patrick Stewart for “The Ride Down Mt. Morgan.” Winners will be announced May 9.
