NBC’s Tom Brokaw-anchored “Nightly News” is on track to score its second consecutive yearlong Nielsen win – despite losing the most viewers of all the evening newscasts. With just a few days left to be figured in, “NBC Nightly News” is averaging an 8.0 rating/17 share and 10.45 million total viewers for the year, according to Nielsen data through last week. ABC’s “World News Tonight with Peter Jennings” (7.7/16 and 10.09 million viewers) remains in second place, with the “CBS Evening News with Dan Rather” (7.4/16 and 9.89 million viewers) a close third.
