There’s nothing better than having two of your favorite things come together, and so it is with great happiness that we learned that Adam Brody and Leighton Meester, both graduates of the Josh Schwartz school of teen dramedy, will soon be walking down the aisle.
But because we prefer a world in which The O.C. and Gossip Girl might actually have taken place, the pair’s impending nuptials got us thinking: Would Blair Waldorf and Seth Cohen have hit it off in real life?
Let’s look at the facts:
Among his classmates in Orange County, Seth is an outsider, despite his wealthy pedigree. Hanging with Blair’s socialite circle he may stick out like a sore thumb, but that didn’t stop her from briefly dating Gossip’s version of the pauper next door, Dan (Penn Badgley). In addition, given Seth’s financial standing (his grandfather is a magnate, for goodness sake), we’re sure Blair would be willing to overlook any social awkwardness on the part of Seth.
As for the comic-book loving teen, he’d probably fall just as hard for Blair as he did for Summer (Rachel Bilson), given her enviable brunette locks, stylish sensibility and overwhelming emphasis on popularity. Not to mention, Seth did manage to win Summer over in the end, and helped her discover the depth she lacked at the start of their relationship. Perhaps he can do the same for the perpetually scheming Blair?
Now, we know what you’re asking – but where does that leave Blair’s husband, Chuck Bass (Ed Westwick)? Well, the handsome, former playboy now has the best wingman on the planet, a toddler son. It’s safe to say Chuck will be a-okay post-Blair, leaving us to ponder a more important question: Who’s going to be switching coasts? (And when can we expect our invitation in the mail?)
