George Zimmerman, who was acquitted of the murder of Trayvon Martin in July, was arrested Monday after a domestic violence call, PEOPLE confirms.
A woman identifying herself as Zimmerman’s girlfriend told officers that he attacked her – and that she’s pregnant, a law enforcement source tells PEOPLE. During a press conference later in the day, it was revealed that the victim now says she isn’t pregnant.
Also during the press conference, the woman claimed that Zimmerman aimed a long barrel shotgun at her and broke a table. He then allegedly shoved her out of the house and barricaded her on her front porch.
The disturbance allegedly took place in a residence in Seminole County near Orlando, Fla. A police spokesman tells PEOPLE that Zimmerman was arrested “following a domestic incident.” Zimmerman was booked and was photographed for a mug shot.
This is the second domestic disturbance incident involving Zimmerman in recent weeks.
“I don’t know what he’s capable of,” she said on the 911 call. “I’m really scared.” Shellie told the operator that George had punched her father, causing her dad’s glasses to fall off, and that George had smashed her iPad.
In that instance, George was placed in “investigative detention” and then released when Shellie and her father decided not to press charges.
Shellie stood by her husband of six years during the trial in which a jury found Zimmerman not guilty of second-degree murder in the February 2012 shooting of Martin, a teenager who was unarmed. The case sparked a nationwide debate over gun control laws.
