If we had a nickel for every first dance at a wedding that turned into a lightsaber duel

The video starts out innocently enough: A sweet first dance at a wedding, choreographed to “Love Is Not a Fight” by Warren Barfield. Then, ominously, John Williams’ “Duel of the Fates,” from Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace begins playing. “This isn’t a very appropriate selection,” you can see the crowd think to themselves. The bride and groom appear confused.

Then, a groomsman slides across the dance floor and tosses the groom a lightsaber. Moments later, a bridesmaid hands the bride another. Suddenly – at 1:14 – it all comes together.

What follows is one of the most heartwarmingly geeky things we’ve ever seen: The couple begins a choreographed duel with lightsabers that involves a quick kiss, an accidental slip, and finally, a return to the dance they originally started.

We wish these newlyweds a long and Stars Wars-filled marriage. May all their fights be elaborately choreographed and involve lightsabers, and not dirty diapers or their mortgage.
