It was story night at Dancing With the Stars Monday and viewers saw a new tale unfold. Jennifer Grey, whose high marks garnered her the leader board’s top spot two weeks in a row, was bested by Audrina Patridge in week three. Patridge and pro partner Tony Dovolani earned the evening’s top score of 26 for their moving soldier coming home-themed waltz, which Len Goodman called “the most touching dance.”
That’s not to say Grey and partner Derek Hough were completely knocked out of the picture. Their schoolboy fantasy-themed samba landed them in second place, tied with Brandy and Maksim Chmerkovskiy’s Bodyguard themed samba and Rick Fox and Cheryl Burke’s dejected ballplayer-themed samba, which Carrie Ann called “hot and sexy.”
It’s regarded as bad luck to open an umbrella indoors, but Kurt Warner and Anna Trebunskaya’s lovers in the park-themed Fox Trot, which landed them in third place for the night with 23 points, had the judges showering them with praise. “So charming,” Carrie Ann gushed. Kyle Massey and partner Lacey Schwimmer also received a 23 for their waltz, which told the story of finding love in a coffee shop.
