Casting calls for the latest America’s Next Top Model last month turned downright scary after fights broke out while hundreds waited for an audition. But producers are soldiering ahead with another audition in New York.
The auditions will take place April 11 at a location to be announced. (Exact details will be posted on CWTV.com later in the week.) Like the earlier call, producers are looking for women age 18-27, who are 5’7” and under – and from diverse backgrounds. As a concession to security, new rules stipulate that nobody is allowed to line up overnight nor before 6 a.m. on the day of the casting. Prospective models will also be handed wristbands while waiting in line.
Tyra Banks subsequently issued a statement after the riot at the March 14 casting that resulted in two people’s hospitalization. “To all the Top Model hopefuls who were affected by the New York casting, we are doing everything we can to make sure that ALL the girls who weren’t seen, get an opportunity to audition,” Banks said at the time.
