There were scores of stars at Monday’s night screening of Smart People, but Jane Fonda only had eyes for boyfriend Lynden Gillis.
The 70-year-old screen star and Gillis, a retired businessman, were nearly inseparable at the dinner – cohosted by Allure editor Linda Wells and Cinema Society – held at New York’s Bowery Hotel.
While Sarah Jessica Parker, Matthew Broderick and Dennis Quaid mingled, Gillis, 75, remained at Fonda’s side – first over drinks at the bar and then on a secluded outdoor patio. (The actress has said the distinguished-looking Gillis – who was previously married to Fonda’s college roommate – resembles both her father, Henry Fonda, and Clint Eastwood.)
“He turned up at a book signing in New York … and I said, ‘You look like a movie star,’ ” Ted Turner’s ex told Woman’s Day magazine last August. “Who knows if it’s forever? But I know I’m in love with him. I am sure that’s why I look younger …. Sex helps a lot.”
Since then, they’ve traveled the world. They’ve been spotted at the Rome Film Festival and dining together in Buenos Aires.
