For Eva Green, 007, yes – but 014, no.
After earning some of the best reviews ever for a Bond Girl when she played opposite Daniel Craig in last year’s Casino Royale, the 27-year-old actress became the subject of rumors that her disposed-of character, Vesper Lynd, might return from the grave for the super spy’s next outing.
“Not true,” the Paris-born Green said at this week’s Montblanc-sponsored gala with Prince Albert of Monaco in Monte Carlo. “I’ve heard rumors I might be coming back as a flashback in the next Bond, but no, I am dead. Dead, dead.”
Green did have the chance to reunite with Craig, 39, for their new movie fantasy The Golden Compass, the first in a planned trilogy of films. But don’t look for the kind of steamy scenes that helped make Casino one of the biggest Bond hits in years.
Disappointed No Daniel
Before filming on Compass began, in fact, Green was disappointed to learn that she and Craig wouldn’t have any scenes together.
“Daniel is a super-sexy guy, a real man’s man,” she told PEOPLE. “He’s also easy to work with. But maybe Casino Royale was my only chance.”
“Ryan is great,” she said, “but it was so exciting to be in a film with Daniel again – even if I didn’t actually get to work with him.”
