Daniel Radcliffe’s having a little post-Potter stress disorder.

The star of arguably the largest fantasy franchise of the new millennium was on Late Night Tuesday, where he told Seth Meyers that it was refreshing to just play, well, a normal dude in his new movie, What If.

“I think doing a film where at no point do I have to save a dying child or have a breakdown or get covered in blood was really nice!” Radcliffe said.

What If stars Radcliffe as an unlucky-in-love man named Wallace who meets the girl of his dreams … who, alas, has a long-time boyfriend.

But Radcliffe’s not going “full normal” quite yet: The other project he has coming down the pike is called Horns, in which he stars as a man who sprouts a pair of horns (!) and pals around with snakes (yet again).

Radcliffe also spoke to PEOPLE Monday night at a screening of What If and divulged a big romantic gesture hiding in his past: “I actually have done what my character does in this film and fly to Ireland to surprise somebody, but that’s less impressive, because I live in England, so that’s like an hour away.”
